SOCIAL Initiatives

“What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal.”
At Shiva Tattva Yoga, we believe that abundance carries with it the responsibility to share. A yogic life is not only about self-realization but also about extending kindness and compassion to the world around us. When we offer support to those less fortunate, we nurture not only their lives but also our own spiritual growth. True seva (selfless service) is the essence of yoga lived beyond the mat.

Animal Care

Animal Care

“The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” – Mahatma Gandhi
Animals are silent teachers, reflecting patience, loyalty, strength, and presence. By observing and interacting with them, we rediscover lessons that daily life often makes us forget. Even our pets remind us of unconditional love and simplicity every day. Inspired by this vision, Shiva Tattva Yoga emphasizes coexistence with all beings. We believe that this planet is not solely a human domain but a shared home where every life has value and purpose.

What we plan?

At its heart, ‘Shiva Tattva Yoga’ represents our responsibility to care for animals with compassion, respect, and dignity. Our vision is to create a sanctuary where animals feel safe, protected, and free from harm. Through this initiative, we invite like-minded individuals to join us in building a shelter where animals in need can find peace, healing, and a second chance at life. Shelters not only provide refuge but also reunite lost companions, rehome abandoned animals, and ensure the wellbeing of those who should not be left on the streets.

What are our objectives?

In alignment with the yogic values of ahimsa (non-violence) and karuna (compassion), our mission through Shiva Tattva Yoga is to uphold the Five Freedoms for every animal friend. We believe that every being deserves freedom from hunger and thirst by having access to clean water and nourishing food, as well as freedom from discomfort through safe shelter and a restful space. Animals must also be free from pain, injury, or disease with timely prevention, care, and treatment, while being able to express their natural behaviour in a space that provides proper facilities and the companionship of their own kind. Equally important is freedom from fear and distress, ensuring a life without suffering, anxiety, or neglect. Through Shiva Tattva Yoga transforms yogic philosophy into compassionate action, fostering harmony, care, and seva for all beings who share this planet with us.

Plantation

PLANTATION DRIVE

Step outside your home and we guarantee you won’t bAt Shiva Tattva Yoga, we recognize that trees are sacred symbols of life, growth, and balance. Step outside your home, and you will find yourself never far from one — be it pine, oak, willow, or ash. While their beauty is undeniable, the true importance of trees goes far beyond aesthetics. From the beginning of time, they have sustained us with oxygen, shelter, food, and countless essentials of life. Over generations, humanity has also used trees for survival, sometimes even to the point of exploitation. Today, with rising pollution and environmental challenges, the need for plantation has become greater than ever. To answer this call, we at Shiva Tattva Yoga organize plantation drives through our initiative , inspired by the yogic principle of harmony with nature.e far from a tree. From pine and oak, to willow and ash, we’re surrounded by a huge variety of different types of them. And while they’re all pretty and wonderful to look at, their importance stems far beyond beauty. Since the very beginning trees have given us the gift of life’s essentials. Many generations passed and we discovered other uses of trees and exploited them for our survival. The need for plantation has become even greater these days because of the growing pollution in the environment. We understand the importance of plantation and therefore we keep organising plantation drives under project Shiva Tatva Yoga initiative.

What we plan?

We believe that planting trees is not only an act of serving the Earth but also a way for individuals to grow spiritually and emotionally. Each sapling planted is a reflection of care, mindfulness, and seva (selfless service). That is why we encourage our students and staff to mark their special life occasions — such as birthdays, anniversaries, or personal milestones — by planting a tree. This simple yet powerful act fosters a sense of accomplishment while contributing to the collective responsibility of protecting the environment.

How can you help?

We are deeply grateful to everyone who has joined us in this journey of nurturing life. Many of our students have already planted hundreds of trees, making a lasting impact that benefits both nature and future generations. We warmly invite more people to be part of our ever-growing plantation drive. You can support Shiv Tattva Yoga by planting a tree, spreading awareness about our mission, or helping us connect with individuals and organizations who can contribute. Our volunteers often share how their participation has transformed them — giving them not only the joy of doing something meaningful but also the empowerment of realizing that every small action creates ripples of positive change.

Education

Education – A Path to Transformation

Education is one of the most powerful tools to transform lives and uplift communities. When even a single member of a family is educated, it paves the way for future generations to break free from the cycle of poverty. Education empowers individuals with skills, knowledge, and opportunities, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to their own growth as well as the socio-economic well-being of society.

Unfortunately, in India today, millions of children are still deprived of this basic right. Nearly 8.4 crore children remain out of school, making it one of the most pressing social challenges of our time. To bridge this gap, Shiva Tattva Yoga initiated an effort dedicated to supporting underprivileged children by providing study materials and other essential educational resources. Through this initiative, we aim to ensure that the light of education reaches every child in need.

What we plan?

Under the Shiv Tattva Yoga, we envision establishing a school where children who have been deprived of education for various reasons can enroll and learn completely free of cost. This initiative is not just about providing classrooms—it is about creating opportunities, nurturing potential, and giving every child the chance to dream of a brighter future.

To sustain this mission, a portion of the revenues generated through our yoga school will be dedicated to this charity. In the long run, our goal is to expand the Shiva Tattva Yoga initiative and create similar educational projects across different parts of the country, reaching more children and empowering them through the gift of education.

How can you help?

You can support the Shiva Tattva Yoga initiative in several meaningful ways. Contributions may include donations towards the construction of the school building or offering your time and expertise as a teacher once the school becomes operational. You may also help by collecting and forwarding donations on behalf of the project.

  • Raise Funds – Introduce the project to corporates, philanthropic groups, or individuals, or arrange a meeting for us to share the vision directly.

Food

Food Drive

Around 795 million people across the globe struggle with hunger, as reported by the World Food Programme — that’s one in every nine individuals. Hunger does not discriminate; it affects both developed and developing nations. In India alone, one in six people, including countless children, face food insecurity every single day.

To address this pressing issue, Shiva Tattva Yoga initiative dedicated to combating hunger and ensuring that no one in our community goes to bed on an empty stomach. Through food drives, we aim to provide wholesome, balanced, and nutritious meals to those in need, bringing comfort and nourishment where it is needed the most.

What we plan?

Under the Shiva Tattva Yoga project, our mission is to support those for whom food drives are a lifeline. This initiative goes beyond simply providing food — it focuses on ensuring access to nutritious meals, including fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low-fat dairy, and lean proteins. Through Shiva Tattva Yoga, we aim to expand access to essential items such as soups, fresh produce, and personal care products, while also growing the donor network and building meaningful connections between donors and organizations serving the hungry. At the same time, we seek to raise awareness about poverty and the importance of advocating for those in need, integrating educational efforts into food collection drives. Youth groups and communities are encouraged to participate, fostering compassion and responsibility among the younger generation. Ultimately, Shiva tattva Yoga is about building a united community where people of all ages, backgrounds, schools, businesses, and neighborhoods come together for a shared cause, strengthening both support networks and friendships.

How can you help?

A world with zero hunger can positively impact our economies, health, education, equality, and social development. It is a key piece of building a better future for everyone. With hunger limiting human development, achieving other sustainable development goals such as education, health, and gender equality becomes impossible. You can help us by becoming a Shiva Tattva Yoga ambassador and supporting our mission in simple yet meaningful ways. You can spread the word by raising awareness about the project from wherever you are. You can also raise funds by sharing our initiative with corporates or interested individuals, or by setting up a meeting for us to present our work. Time and again, our team members have witnessed how people’s lives are profoundly affected by their involvement in the project. Volunteers often feel empowered, realising that every small contribution matters and adds value to the larger cause.

What are our objectives?

Under the Shiva Tattva Yoga project, we have consistently worked to feed the needy and homeless with the help of our students, staff, and volunteers. Our objectives are simple yet deeply impactful — to reduce or prevent child undernutrition such as stunting, wasting, and micronutrient deficiencies; to educate children about healthy diets and lifestyle habits; and to reduce food insecurity and hunger. We strive to ensure that no one goes to bed on an empty stomach while encouraging more people to get acquainted with our program so that we can expand our reach and make a greater impact together.

Cleanliness

Cleanliness Drive

A clean and green environment is one of the core ideologies of sustainable development. Many diseases can be traced back to unhygienic surroundings and irresponsible waste disposal. While most people are careful about keeping their homes clean, they often overlook their responsibility toward the environment outside. Merely shifting waste from one place to another does not solve the problem. This may stem from lack of awareness, laziness, or irresponsibility — and sometimes, all it takes is a gentle reminder. Understanding the critical role of a clean environment, Shiva Tattva Yoga initiative. We regularly organise cleanliness drives across different areas, spreading awareness about proper waste management and inspiring people to handle waste responsibly.

What we plan?

Cleanliness is directly linked to physical well-being and a healthy environment, with strong implications for both public and personal hygiene. Our idea is to educate people about the importance of cleanliness, sanitation, and the diseases caused by unhygienic conditions, while actively involving them through cleanliness drives. With the support of our students, staff, and volunteers, Shiva Tattva Yoga has successfully conducted drives in various parts of the city. In the past, we have played a key role in cleaning the Holy River Ganga, contributing to riverfront development and river surface cleaning. Shiva Tattva Yoga has also been actively involved in cleaning trekking routes and other public areas where waste management had become a serious concern.

How can you help?

You can support our mission by becoming a Shiva Tattva Yoga Ambassador and joining us in our upcoming cleanliness drives. Simply reach out to us, and we will share details of our next initiative. There are many ways to contribute: you can spread the word and raise awareness about Shiva Tattva Yoga, or raise funds by introducing us to corporates and individuals who may wish to support the project, or even by arranging meetings where we can present our vision. Over time, we have seen how people’s lives are profoundly impacted through their involvement in Shiva Tattva Yoga. Volunteers not only feel that they are making a meaningful contribution, but also experience empowerment in realising that every small effort counts towards creating a cleaner, healthier future.

What are our objectives?

At Shiva Tattva Yoga, our efforts go beyond just cleaning — we focus on spreading awareness about cleanliness, sanitation, and the importance of maintaining public spaces. We educate communities on reducing plastic waste and encourage the use of recyclable products to minimize environmental damage. To ensure strong community participation, we organize a variety of activities such as events, workshops, seminars, and conferences, all aimed at building a culture of responsibility towards the environment. Our outreach extends through rallies, campaigns, exhibitions, shram daan initiatives, cleanliness drives, and engaging competitions. For broader impact, we also use mass media channels like TV, radio, newspapers, and digital platforms to share informative articles, advertorials, and campaigns that inspire people to take action for a cleaner, greener future.

Take a Pledge

Take A Pledge

Over the years, the damage to our environment and fellow beings has grown severe, creating a serious imbalance in the ecological system. What many of us overlook is how our daily use of paper, water, fuel, and energy directly impacts nature — and eventually comes back to affect us. The truth is simple: the more we harm the environment, the more we harm ourselves. It’s time to take a pledge to safeguard the earth that sustains us. Every small action matters — do your bit to save the planet and help restore the natural circle of life.
